VandeLune Ball players

Christian, Joel, and the twins are playing ball this year. We had up to 9 games a week all through June. It's been ball games every night! Christian is in the top playing left field, Joel was pitching, then Maggie was up to bat, and Malorie was making a throw to first base. Go VANDELUNES!

Taylor's first communion

Taylor had her first communion last week. She is going to be in 6th grade. Love her dimples! She looked very pretty that day.

Storm Lake Fishing

Christian and Chris spent the day at Storm Lake with Aaron, Kerry, and Tyler. They came home with walleye, bass, and a very large (22pound) buffalo carp for the girls to see. They had a really fun day.

Fishing Buddies

Chris and Christian caught 8 and 8.5 pound bass in our pond. It's been a fun summer of fishing at the VandeLune household.

Christian caught a big walleye

Christian loves to fish and was super excited to catch a 28 in 9 1/2 pound walleye in our farm pond!

Emma gets new hearing aids

We thought Emma's hearing aids were broken because she wasn't hearing very well. So we ordered some new pink hearing aids and went to Omaha to have them fitted. The hearing aids look super cute and she can hear better. Unfortunately, we had to go back for a CT scan and other tests to find out why her hearing got worse. She now is deaf in many frequencies in the left ear and profound loss in the other frequencies. The right ear is a moderate loss in some frequencies but a severe loss in most. The CT showed she has a rare sensory neural disorder called Large Vestibular Aquiduct Syndrome. She also has cochlear dysplasia, and sudden deafness occurs with this disorder. We are very sad for her, but so thankful that she was born with hearing and has been able to hear and learn speech for this many years. It has made us all so thankful for the gift of hearing. Emma is thankful too.
