Brett's Week in Iowa

We had a great week with Christian's buddy, Brett Purnell from Wichita, KS. He has come every summer since we moved here. He grew a foot and is growing into such a great kid. I'm proud of him! We drove him half way to his parents today. It was great to see Bob, Connie, and Ryan on drop off and pick up. Thanks for coming, Brett. We're going to miss you!

Boy's Fair Trophies

Here are the trophies and ribbons they received on their livestock. They had a great time!

Brett from Wichita

Brett from Wichita

Hunter, Tyler, Christian and Joel spent a lot of time down at the pond this week. The girls did too and this year they love swimming down in the pond. It's been a really fun week.

Brett from Wichita

Hunter, a friend from Cherokee, likes to come play when Brett is here. They shot bows one day and Brett got a pop can at a 20 yard shot. He was so excited! Dr. Chris had to shell out the $20 he bet Brett on hitting the pop can. That made is all the better for him!

Brett is here from Wichita

Christian's best friend from Wichita has come every summer since we have moved here to spend time on the farm. He is here this week and we have had a blast. They have shot bows, guns, caught fish and frogs, and spent all day long down at the creek and pond. Brett loves to try new food , and so far he has tried deer and frog legs. Thanks for letting him come, Bob and Connie!

The boys at the fair

The boys did great at the fair. Joel was not old enough to go to the fair, but he got 4 out of 5 outstanding juniors on his projects. He got several blues on a project he made and on rabbits and poultry. Christian gets to go to the state fair for 3 projects he made, he got all blues on the rest of the projects and rabbits and poultry. The boys did great on their animals...lots of Grand champions and Reserve Champions. Joel got best of show overall rabbit and Christian got Rabbit showmanship. A big thank you to my dad and Don Pingel who got us all set up on purchasing rabbits and chickens and to Don for making all of our rabbit cages.

Taylor at the Fair

Taylor did great this year at the fair. She gets to go to the state fair for one project, had a couple of Reserve Champions and a couple of Grand Champion Projects and also one Outstanding Junior project. We had a lot of fun working on them together. She is in the pictures with Riley Dolphin. Riley and her mom went shopping with Taylor and I to get the outfits for the girls to model at the fair. Thank you to Amy Letsche, my friend who helped Joel, Christian and Taylor with one project this year. You're the best, Amy!

Christian's Turkey tails

Christian had a great first turkey hunting experience! He got two 25 pound birds with one shot. He mounted the tails for a 4-H project and gets to go to the state fair! Aaron and his cousin Kerry helped him learn to mount them. It looks awesome!

Abbigayle turns 6!

I can't believe my baby girl is 6 years old. She is so sweet and such a fun one to end on. She had a fun birthday at home with her brothers and sisters and godmother, Wanda. We plan to have a friend birthday party in a couple of weeks. Happy Birthday, Abbigayle!

Lily Rebecca!

Karen had another girl, Lily Rebecca. Our family headed to Mason City to see Karen, Chris and the baby right away because Karen had some complications with the delivery. Thankfully, everyone is ok. Lily is beautiful! We also got to see Jay, Bonnie and Claire and Lori, Travis and the girls.

Emma goes to Wichita

Emma went to Wichita to stay with her Godparents, Loren and Terri. She had a great time. She was a little more homesick this year, but then when she got home, she was homesick for Loren and Terri. There is also a picture in here of her guinea pigs, Peanut and Oreo and her missing front teeth. What a cutie!
